If I could give negative starts I would. He has no ethics and no morals, and no sense of confidentiality. He was our mediator for child support and assessed me as working full time when I had all the documents to prove I did not work full time. He also would tell the opposing party negative things about me and call me names. The opposing party told me everything that was said by Greg in mediation, when opposing party and I were on talking terms. I don’t know how he is even allowed to have a law license.
Paid $400 cash and requested a receipt. Never received one. Also, I think he worked with the attorneys and stayed quiet when he knew it wasn’t right for what I was offered. Thought I’d let the experts lead me in the right direction and I was definitely steered wrong. Do not go with Gregg.
Biased against women. My ex-husband is a debt-beat dad with wages garnished for child support. I am my child’s primary parent, and sole financial support, except for a measly amount from her dad. But Mr. Velasquez prioritized the debt-beat dad’s work schedule over mine. When I asked for the meeting to be moved a few days, until after the most important professional conference of the year for me, Mr. Velasquez immediately threatened me with court action. His fees are also way too high.
Reported to Disciplinary Board of New Mexico
I would not recommend anyone hire Mr. Velasquez for legal representation in family law. Unfortunately, I hired him and found him to be unethical, dishonest and a con man. Fortunately, I fired him, after being taken to the cleaners to the tune of nearly $50,000, and hired a competent attorney with integrity. Mr. Velasquez did nothing, literally nothing but pretend like he was an expert and cared--- he is a con man and extremely unethical--- he should not be practicing law.
when hired, Mr. Velasquez, was told to settle my case. His settlement authority exceeded the sum I eventually settled my case for with a new lawyer. After meeting with opposing counsel, he told me they had no interest in settling. After firing Velasquez for multiple professional/ ethical violations in handling my case, the next lawyer easily settled my case. Opposing counsel advised she was thankful to have settlement discussion. Velasquez never responded to 12 calls for over two months.
